Can You Build Something Without Posting Your Face? (2026)

Can You Build Something Without Posting Your Face? (2026)

September 26, 2026

The short answer

Yes. And I know it because I do not make videos of myself either.

I have never filmed myself for a post. Not once. What I have built, I built with my phone, my voice, and women who trust me.

Here is the honest part. It is not faster this way. It is possible. That is a different word, and nobody says it out loud.

Do you actually have to be on camera?

Quick answer: no. You do have to be findable. That is a different job.

You have run something for years. You have hired people and let people go. You have sat at a table and closed something that mattered. You have talked a frightened customer down on the phone at nine at night.

And the thing in your way now is a lens the size of a dime.

That is not vanity. You have done harder things than this before breakfast.

Almost nobody who comes to me here planned to be here. Something moved first. A job ended. A commission got cut.

The Urban Institute followed full time workers in their early fifties. About half of them lost a job because the employer ended it. Not because they walked. Pay after that rarely climbs back.

The Federal Reserve asked about saving last fall. Between forty five and fifty nine, forty three percent said their retirement saving was on track. More than half could not say it was.

And so you start looking. And the first thing everybody tells you is to get on video.

Twenty minutes, and you decide nothing on the call

Working out what comes next? Book the twenty minutes. I will answer whatever you ask.

Book the twenty minutes

You can always say no.

What has to happen before somebody buys?

Quick answer: four things. One of them suits a camera. Three of them suit you.

She hears it from somebody she trusts

Not from an ad. From a person. Her sister. Her hairdresser. The friend from her Tuesday walk.

This is the step a camera is for. It is one way to become the person she heard it from. Never the only way.

Her question gets answered

She has one, and it is small. Will it strip my floors. Is it safe around the dog.

A video cannot answer that. You can, in four lines, in her messages, tonight.

She sees it working in a real house

Yours. A photo of your own kitchen counter does that. Your face does not have to be in it.

She orders it herself

Nothing goes through you. No stock in your hallway. No taking money at your kitchen table. She orders and it ships to her door.

Read those four again. Three of them are just a phone and a person who cares.

And the trusting step is not the weak one. It is the strong one. Three researchers followed about ten thousand customers of a German bank for nearly three years. The ones who came in on somebody's recommendation stayed longer and were worth more than the ones who came in cold.

That is the expensive part of any business. It is the part you have already been doing for twenty years.

A phone clamped to a tripod in the corner of a modern living room, aimed at an empty armchair, the ring light beside it switched off

Who is actually watching video at your age?

Quick answer: fewer on short video than you picture. It is Facebook, not TikTok.

Pew Research Center asked in 2025. Of adults between fifty and sixty four, thirty percent use TikTok and forty percent use Instagram. Seventy four percent are on Facebook. Eighty five percent are on YouTube.

So seven in ten adults that age are not on TikTok. The room you are selling into is not a short video room.

Now the other side, because you deserve it straight. A face gets trusted quicker. Thirty seconds of watching somebody talk says something a paragraph cannot say. That is true.

It is one door into a house with four doors. Not the door.

A woman with a neat silver bob folding in the tripod legs, holding the phone face down at her side and looking toward the window, settled

Isn't a quiet business just a slower business?

Quick answer: often yes. Slower is not the same as smaller.

Here is the part I know you are thinking, because I thought it. Everybody winning at this seems to live on video. That is not nothing and I will not pretend it is.

Here is what got me anyway.

Video is a wide net thrown at strangers. It reaches hundreds who will never order.

What you have is narrower and heavier. Twenty women who already answer your texts. A slower start with a much better floor under it.

Her question gets answeredNoFour lines in her messages
She sees it in a real houseNoA photo of your counter, no face
She understands the whole thingNoA page does the explaining for you
She ordersNoShe orders herself, it ships to her

And if the camera is more than a preference for you, you are not rare. The National Institute of Mental Health puts social anxiety at about one in eight adults at some point in life. It runs higher in women than in men.

Nobody has to fix that before starting. Not here.

What would I do first on Monday?

Quick answer: write twelve names down, then send one message.

Write down twelve names

Not everybody you know. Twelve. Women who already ask you what you use in your own house.

You have been answering them for years.

Send one message, and do not sell in it

Ask her something about her. What is she washing her floors with. Then let her answer, and leave it there.

Let a page do the explaining

You are not the brochure. Send her to something that explains it properly, and stay the person who answers her afterwards.

That split is the whole thing. The page explains. You are the reason she believes it.

Do the awkward part on the phone

Not on video. On the phone, the way you would call your sister. Ten minutes, her voice and yours.

Shannon's Advice

Straight talk from Shannon

I do not call them grocery stores. They are poison centers meant to do you and your family harm. It is not just the brands who are doing the harm, it is the stores themselves. They allow these toxic products on their shelves. People are sick and dying. This is a very serious matter. How can we ever trust them again?

We can't trust them. That is where Switch to America comes in. We are a new supply chain, built on family values, trust and affordability.

You do not have to take my word for it. The proof is in my blog posts, the recalls, the lawsuits and the fines. Also, inside my Switch Circle private community, we talk about real solutions.

Women come to me exhausted, in pain, stressed out, and on a list of prescriptions they never wanted. I have spent over 20 years helping women get off prescription medications. I help families reclaim their health.

We cannot stop them. I have stopped expecting to. However, we can stop walking into their stores. We are linking arms and together taking our control back. Control of our health and our finances.

Questions women are asking me about this

Do you really never film yourself?

Never. I have never filmed myself for a post, and I am not planning to. I write, I talk on the phone, and I sit down with women on a call. If somebody says that cannot work, they are describing their own way, not the only one.

What do I say when somebody asks what I do?

Say the plain thing. You help families get the toxic products out of their house and swap in clean ones. If she wants more she will ask, and then you send her the page.

Can I do this without telling everybody I know?

Yes. There is no announcement post and I would not want one. You talk to whoever you already talk to. Nobody else finds out until you tell them.

What if I only have a handful of people?

Good. A handful who trust you beats a thousand who scrolled past you. Twelve names is a real start. Small and warm has always beaten big and cold.

Will somebody push me to do video later?

Not by me. If it ever suits you, do it. If it never does, you are not behind. The four things that make a sale do not include it.

Here is what I want for you, whether or not we ever speak.

You spent years becoming the one other women ask. That happened off camera. It was always off camera.

It is a Tuesday in October. You come in from the car and put your keys down slowly. The only work left today was one message, and you sent it this morning. You do not open the laptop again.

You become the one who built it in your own voice, in the room you were already standing in.
