Rodan and Fields Business Model Change: What Do Amazon and 400 Ulta Stores Mean for Consultants? (2026)
The short answer
It means Rodan and Fields now sells on Amazon, where its own rule book bars you from selling.
Here is the short version. Since August 2026, Glossy reports, it has sold on Amazon's Premium Beauty store. At Ulta, it is growing from 150 to 400 stores. It said so itself on September 8, 2026.
The rule book on its website still calls selling on Amazon "strictly prohibited." And around the first 150 Ulta stores, the CEO told Glossy, affiliate sales remained flat.
Rodan and Fields picked the new places to sell. You did not get a vote. Checked October 20, 2026.
What this guide answers
What did Rodan and Fields change, and when?
Quick answer: first how you get paid, then where it sells. You voted on neither.
It is late. One lamp is on in your office. The laptop is shut, and the glass of water has gone warm.
Your best customer texted you a link this morning. Same serum you sell her. On Amazon, with a smiley face.
You set up her reorder in June. You wrote her a thank-you card and bought her coffee. You built her trust, and the company carried it to Amazon.
On September 1, 2024, Rodan and Fields stopped taking new consultants, its own rule book says. It also stopped paying you on sales by the people you signed up, FashionUnited reported.
Then it went into Ulta in 2025. Then, in August 2026, Amazon.
Twenty minutes, and you decide nothing on the call
Watching your company pick new stores? It is a video call about my own business, Switch to America. Ask me anything. You sign nothing.
You can always say no.
Rodan and Fields' own papers explain the rest.
Is Rodan and Fields on Amazon legit?
Quick answer: yes, the brand itself launched there. You are still not allowed to sell there.
In its news release, Rodan and Fields said it is "launching on Amazon Premium Beauty." Glossy said it went live in August.
Neither one says every Rodan and Fields listing on Amazon comes from the brand.
Now your side. Your rule book, version 22, names sites "such as eBay, Amazon." Selling there is "strictly prohibited." Break that rule, and Rodan and Fields can end your agreement right away.
The rule book says the rule protects shoppers. Fair enough. It still means the company can sell there and you cannot.
Will Ulta and Amazon take your sales?
Quick answer: the CEO says no. He said affiliate sales around the first 150 Ulta stores stayed flat.
The CEO is Dimitri Haloulos. Glossy wrote that he "insists" the new places to sell will not "cannibalize," or eat into, the affiliate side. He also said, "Many consultants' businesses actually grew."
He gave no number. But around the first 150 Ulta stores, he said, overall affiliate sales remained flat.
Flat means no growth. And that was before 250 more stores and Amazon.
Glossy put it plainly: "there will surely be some overlap in territory." And so your customer can now pick up Rodan and Fields at Ulta, on her way home.
Who decides which sales count as yours?
Quick answer: Rodan and Fields does, in writing, and it can change the answer.
The rule book spells out the sales you get paid on. Your customer has to buy on your own website or the company's, under your number.
Ulta is not on that list. Amazon is not either. The rule book never names Ulta at all.
And Rodan and Fields can move that line. It keeps the right to change what counts as your sale.
Then your customers. The rule book counts "all Customer Data" as company confidential information. In its words, all of it "is the property of Rodan + Fields."
You built the trust. On paper, the company owns the list.
You also pay to stay. The company's own FAQ puts the fee at $9.99 a year. And if you stay on, the rule book counts that as a yes to its changes.
Here is what you see, next to what the papers show.
| What you see | What the papers show | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your customer can buy | "rodanandfields.com or through our Brand Consultants," in the FAQ updated July 30, 2026 | Ulta, Amazon and TikTok Shop too, per the September 8, 2026 release |
| Did the first Ulta stores help | The CEO says "Many consultants' businesses actually grew" | Around the first 150 Ulta stores, overall affiliate sales remained flat, he told Glossy |
| Who may sell on Amazon | The brand is "launching on Amazon Premium Beauty" | For you, "strictly prohibited" |
| Which sales pay you | A commission on "all affiliate sales," per the FAQ | Only your site or the company's, and it "reserves the right to change" that |
| Who owns the customer list | Your customers, one coffee at a time | "the property of Rodan + Fields and is not owned by Rodan + Fields Consultants" |
Each cell on the right comes from the company or its CEO. The last row is the one that follows you out the door.
Isn't this just another pitch?
Quick answer: partly, and here is the part I will not dress up.
Selling at Ulta and on Amazon breaks no law. The CEO may even be right that an Ulta shelf helps some sellers. He told Glossy you "have trust," but "might not have the credibility that an Ulta has."
Now me. Switch to America could change its rules too. Any company can.
Switch to America sells straight from the manufacturer. No middlemen and no markup. No minimums, no maximums.
You pay what a brand new shopper pays. I will not hand you a number to expect. Nobody honest can.
Still a consultant? Read section 6r of your rule book before you post about another business. It limits what you may post on the pages you use for Rodan and Fields. I would rather you stay in good standing.
What would I do first on Monday?
Quick answer: read three parts of your own rule book, then ask one question in writing.
Find three sections first
Section 11h, on Amazon. Section 6r, on what you may post. And the word list at the back, under Commissionable Sales. Those are the sales you get paid on. Mark each one with a pencil.
Ask Rodan and Fields one question in writing
Do I earn anything when my customer buys at Ulta or on Amazon? Send it by email. Keep the answer.
Ask the next company the same things
Including me. Who owns the customer list? Who can change the pay rules, and with how much notice? Where does the company sell, and may I sell there too? Where is the income disclosure?
If somebody dodges one, that is your answer.
Shannon's Advice
Straight talk from ShannonI do not call them grocery stores. They are poison centers meant to do you and your family harm. It is not just the brands who are doing the harm, it is the stores themselves. They allow these toxic products on their shelves. People are sick and dying. This is a very serious matter. How can we ever trust them again?
We can't trust them. That is where Switch to America comes in. We are a new supply chain, built on family values, trust and affordability.
You do not have to take my word for it. The proof is in my blog posts, the recalls, the lawsuits and the fines. Also, inside my Switch Circle private community, we talk about real solutions.
Women come to me exhausted, in pain, stressed out, and on a list of prescriptions they never wanted. I have spent over 20 years helping women get off prescription medications. I help families reclaim their health.
We cannot stop them. I have stopped expecting to. However, we can stop walking into their stores. We are linking arms and together taking our control back. Control of our health and our finances.

Where to check me
- Rodan + Fields Brand Consultant Policies and Procedures (U.S.), Version 22, effective September 1, 2025. Sections 11h, 12a and 6r, and the glossary. Staying on counts as accepting "any changes or additions." The contract you work under, in its own words.
- The Rodan + Fields press release, September 8, 2026. 150 to 400 Ulta stores, Amazon Premium Beauty and TikTok Shop. Three places your customer can buy that are not your website.
- Glossy, by Emily Jensen, September 1, 2026. The August Amazon launch, the "cannibalize" promise and "remained flat." The promise and the result, in one story.
- The Rodan + Fields FAQ on its business changes, updated July 30, 2026. The September 1, 2024 change, the $9.99 fee and "not accepting new Brand Consultants." It still lists only two ways to buy.
- FashionUnited, by Danielle Wightman-Stone, July 16, 2024. About 100 roles cut, and no more pay on recruits' sales from September 1. The goal was to "meet customers where they are discovering and buying beauty products." In 2026, that meant Amazon.
Version 22 is the one posted on its website. If yours is newer, find the same sections.
Who do you become?
Here is what I want for you, whether or not we ever speak.
It is a Saturday in late October. You are walking under the live oaks, and the light has gone gold. Your phone is at home on the counter. You walk slowly, because you know which part of your work is yours, and you have it in writing.
You asked the hard questions first, and you kept the answers.
You become the one who decides where your work counts, whatever store opens next.
Twenty minutes, on video, no slides
Ask me first who owns the customer list here, and who may sell where. If it is not for you, I would rather find out on the call.
You can always say no, and there is no follow up if you do.What else are women asking me about this?
Did Rodan and Fields change its business model?
Yes. On September 1, 2024, it stopped taking new consultants and moved to an affiliate model. Then came Ulta in 2025 and Amazon in August 2026.
Is Rodan and Fields going out of business?
Nothing in its news from September 2026 says so. It is adding stores, not closing them. It would not share its growth forecasts with Glossy.
Do I get paid when my customer buys at Ulta or on Amazon?
The rule book counts sales on your own website or the company's. That line does not name Ulta or Amazon. Ask Rodan and Fields in writing, and keep the answer.
Can I sell Rodan and Fields on Amazon myself?
No. Section 11h calls it "strictly prohibited." Break it, and Rodan and Fields can end your agreement right away. It can sell there. You cannot. You are not crazy for noticing.
